Replacement Ultraviolet Curing Lamps

Ultraviolet curing, also known as UV curing is a photochemical process where ultraviolet light is used to instantly cure or “dry” adhesives, varnish (coatings) or inks. Considered a Green Technology, UV curing has minimal impact on the environment. Typical advantages include lower operating costs, increased production speed, reduced energy requirements, excellent solvent and scratch resistance and elimination of solvent recovery costs.

Serving the graphic arts, converting, printing and coating industries, UV curing applications include prefinished hardwood flooring, molding, trim and other woodwork, printing presses, plastic decorating equipment, marking-coding equipment, cabinet doors and furniture components. Applications include lacquers or clear top coats to pigmented inks and coatings.

Celebrating 30 years of engineering excellence, TCS Technologies is a leading manufacturer of high quality ultraviolet (UV) curing lamps. We produce our UV bulbs from the finest USA sourced materials. Since 1979, we specialize in quick turn-around providing UV lamps with a long and trouble-free life. Specific lamp information and part numbers can be found by clicking the various buttons on the left side of the web page.

When an equipment manufacturer claims “we make our own lamps”, this generally means they spec them out. UV equipment manufacturers do not make the lamps they sell, TCS Technologies does! With TCS Technologies, you are dealing directly with a UV lamp manufacturer. Why pay inflated prices! We can clone almost any curing lamp. Simply send us a lamp to match. It need not be new but it must light. We will reproduce the lamp; replace it faster, and at less cost than the OEM product.

OEM versus Second source lamps

We realize you have reservations about purchasing second source lamps. Is there anything wrong with that? Does a less expensive lamp mean a poorer-quality part? How can a lamp priced 50% less than the OEM be of equal quality.

To answer this question, consider the following: When you purchase replacement UV lamps from the UV system   manufacturer, you know you are getting Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts. An aftermarket (second-source) lamp is one that is not sourced from the system manufacturer. When you purchase lamps from TCS Technologies, you are receiving a second-source or aftermarket lamp.

Second source lamps do not mean inferior quality.
The key difference between an OEM part and non-OEM part is the distributor of the part. Most UV system manufacturers do not actually fabricate UV lamps. Instead, they subcontract with independent manufacturers for the fabrication of OEM parts. Some of the subcontractors that manufacture OEM parts also manufacture non-OEM components. Replacement parts such as ink and UV lamps contribute greatly to the equipment manufacturer’s profit. These sales help to offset overhead. It only makes sense that service technicians (who are employees of the equipment manufacturer) will only recommend original OEM lamps.

Second source lamps are less expensive than OEM lamps

There is more of a burden on OEM parts and service to increase a machine manufacturer’s profit. This is especially true in times of slumping sales. Second-source companies do not shoulder the same burden; hence, you can receive the same quality product at a fraction of the cost.

You do the math; the same $120.00 lamp can easily become a $300.00 replacement OEM part. This is the same lamp with the only difference being overhead burden.

Quality can be equal to or greater than OEM:

In some cases, you may end up with a better part than you started with. TCS Technologies reverse-engineers most lamps and works the weaknesses out. Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and second source TCS Technologies UV lamps serve the same purpose and perform the same function. The ultimate choice is up to the print shop operator to decide which is best for them and their machine. Remember in most cases, buying a lamp from the OEM does not mean you get a better quality part. TCS Technologies provides an equivalent UV bulb at a fraction of the cost.

Better availability:

TCS Technologies actually manufactures the lamps we sell. We are masters of our own destiny. The UV system manufacturer relies on inventory that may or may not exist.

Technical Support:

Since 1979, we have manufactured UV curing lamps. We know what is required to produce a quality lamp. We stand behind our product and can assist should a problem arise.  Not all aftermarket lamps are created equal. This is especially true of lamps coming from the Far East.

UV lamps are the main consumable item of your UV dryer. Let TCS Technologies reduce your cash-outlay without sacrificing curing performance. Since 1979, we have manufactured quality UV curing lamps right here in the USA. Trust TCS Technologies to provide a quality product backed by 30-years of lamp-making excellence.
